Nikki Sixx is an incredibly talented songwriter, author, and photographer. From its songwriting credits, you probably heard at least a couple of Mötley Crüe songs. I grew up listening to them; however, my favorite songs are the ones he wrote for the SIXX:A.M. band.

SIXX:A.M. was formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba, and James Michael. Their first album is the soundtrack to Nikki’s bestselling book “The Heroin Diaries”.

The book is Nikki Sixx’s diary, detailing a year in the life of a shattered rock star. It starts at Christmas, with him waking up with a needle in his arm. It’s an epic page-turner.

I read it in one sitting. That’s how good it is.

Even better is the audiobook version, narrated by Nikii Sixx himself. His voice adds to the book. Hearing him reading the exact text you find in the book brings a whole new level of emotion.
